Roswell International Air Center is a public-use airport located three miles northeast of Roswell, in Chaves County, New Mexico, United States. The airfield was used by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II as a training airfield for pilots and aircrew. It was also the site of the crash of an unidentified aircraft.
Roswell International Air Center was used by the United States Department of Defense as a test range for various aircraft and missile systems. In 1997, it became a public airport. In 2008, it was renamed in honor of Charles A. Roswell Jr., an aviation pioneer and former chairman and CEO of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems.
